Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”.

For the past twenty years, Nigerians have been voting the same group of people, crisscrossing from one party to the other, into power. The result has been insecurity, insurgency, terrorism, poverty, unemployment, disunity, lawlessness, impunity, bloodshed, broken down infrastructure, and a fall of over 1,600% in the value of the Naira. (N21.89 in 1999; N360 in 2018)

As they devalued the Naira,    they increase the price of fuel from N20.00 per liter in 1999 to N145.00 per liter in 2018, an increase of 625%.

In effect, while Naira lost its value by 1,600%, fuel increased in price by 625%!

As another election comes up in 2019, this same group of politicians is positioning itself to come back into power. If Nigerians look in their direction, then the nation is not well. If Nigerians want better governance, they have to look in other directions.

An extensive work has been done by pro-democracy groups at producing Citizens Demands for political parties. The list highlighted specific demands considered irreducible minimum expectation from any incoming Government.

The reality on the ground is this: APC and PDP would scoff at the list. The two parties believe no one can dictate to them. Therefore, if we want those citizens’ demands to receive any form of attention, we have to mobilize Nigerians to sponsor new political parties/candidates that can be negotiated with. In effect: THINK NEW

WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD

After months of agonizing and lamenting on the ills in the country, it is time to take corrective actions.

The THINK NEW Conference in Lagos on Friday 12th October, 2018 is meant to forge new political parties into one force to lead Nigerians to build new political class. Nigerians must be reminded of the words of Albert Einstein: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”.

Nigerians cannot keep voting the same group of corrupt and incompetent leaders for 20 years and expect positive changes in the country. A group must provide LEADERSHIP to emancipate the people from mental slavery. This, we believe, is our calling.

We need your participation and support as follows:

  1. Plan to attend the Conference, particularly if you are based in Lagos
  2. Encourage members of your Church/Group to attend.
  3. Inform every NEW political party/candidate you know to attend. Impress on them to attend and participate. The meeting is in their favor and primarily for their benefit.
  4. Assist to mobilize youths, particularly Youth Corpers and University Students to attend.
  5. The democrats in the Media should kindly carry news on THINK NEWS and publicize it.
  6. Go to www.facebook.com/thinknewnigeria and like the page. Recommend it to your contacts.
