  • Communiqué of the Conference on Herders and Farmers Conflicts in Central Nigeria, organized by the Centre for Research Management, Benue State University, Makurdi, held at the Auditorium 1 of the College of Health Sciences, Benue State University from 13th – 16th March, 2017 Christened:

    The Centre for Research and Management, Benue State University, having noted that thousands of people of the Central Nigerian States are being killed, with thousands more suffering debilitating injuries; communities being destroyed and hundreds of thousands being displaced from their ancestral homes;

    On 15th April 2017, at about 7:00 pm, an attack was launched by Fulani militias in Asso village, Jema’a local government area of Kaduna state. The attack came when the people were in the church for Easter vigil celebration. The killers took advantage of the event by sporadically shooting at the faithful killing at least 12 persons on the spot with many injured.

    Gentlemen of the Press,

                The entire Irigwe Nation in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State wishes to let the world know that since the gruesome attack on Ncha Village on the 7th September 2017, where more than twenty people were killed, mostly women and children and houses razed, Rigwe land has not known peace.

    Dear Adamawa State Ethnic Nationalities,

    The constitution of an Administrative Panel by the Adamawa State Government to investigate the circumstances surrounding the intermittent attacks on the Kadomon, Koh and Tambo communities of the State did not come to us as a surprise since it has almost become a routine and painful tradition for governments to venture in to such actions without coming with a result oriented outcome.

    As the Daughter & Servant of Ijaw Nation, l need to remind Gov Dickson that Bayelsa state represents the identity of Ijaw people.

    I am therefore calling on Ijaw people home and abroad to join me in condemning the decision of the Bayelsa state government as lead by Governor Dickson to donate 1,200 hectares

  • Relative calm has been restored to villages in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where 33 people died in clashes between villagers and Fulani, Police source has said.

    A total of 27 Fulani people living in the area were allegedly killed by the villagers in two separate attacks, while six native villagers died, the police said today in Kaduna.

  • Youth groups, known as Netzit Patriotic Front, has expressed serious concern over media report that Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai of Kaduna state single-handedly paid Fulani herdsmen a huge sum of money to ‘stop’ killings in Southern Kaduna, describing him as unfit to rule the state.

    The Front group said, “following the ‘revelation,’ they concluded that the governor is not fit to govern Kaduna State,” even as Youth Wings of Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWCAN, also joined suit in the same propagation.
