    The Middle-Belt Youth Council, MBYC, of the central part of Nigeria, has distanced itself from the three months’ vacation ultimatum issued to Igbos by ‘Northern Youth’ groups, saying, the Youth Council is ready to accommodate the Ohaneize Ndigbos in their states.

    A statement issued Wednesday and signed by the CounciI's President, Emma Zopmal, stated that Middle-Belt has been a home for the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, South-South and the South-West without any form of discrimination against anyone.

  • Quit Notice To Igbos: “We Are Not Part Of The North,” Middle-Belt Dissociate Self

    A coalition of youth group, under the umbrella body of Middle-Belt Youth Patriotic Front, on Wednesday dissociated itself from the north, saying they are not part of the coalition of Arewa Youths group that gave a quit notice to Igbos residing in northern parts of Nigeria.

    Briefing newsmen in Kaduna, the group said the middle-belt states include, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau, Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba, Niger, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) as well as southern parts of Kaduna; as such, they should not be categorized as belonging to North but Middle-Belt.

    The Double Standard in the Continued Closure of the Kafanchan Campus of KASU.

     

    The Kafanchan Campus of the Kaduna State University (KASU) was closed on the 19th of December, 2016 and since then it has remained closed and the students of that campus left to idle away unnecessarily.  While they are made redundant, their colleagues in the Kaduna Campus of the same institution have been hitherto attending their classes and by implication attaining a comparative advantage.
